It's almost impossible for me to put down one of these books. This one had too many Dale Brown overtones for me - we'll bleed and die to avoid killing too many of the enemy - but it's still a hell of a read. Adams' writing is so tight, it's tense reading. He's given a lot of thought to future military ops, which is always appreciated. The intrigue angle is being played increasingly strongly too, which makes me wonder where he's heading with this.I can't wait for the next installment. If you like intense sci-fi military thrillers, Adams' work is as good as it gets. Highly recommended.

I read the ARC and loved every minute of it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you can't put it down.
More plot twists and at the end, well, not what you expect. Brings a whole new enigma into play. Bad enough the U.N. cutting weapons and staff, giving the ERF only 6 months to save their entire forces, the rebellion waging war on them, the lancers joining an anonymous enemy against them....so what could possibly be worse? Guess I have to wait for the next " episode"...dang Author and his cliff hanger....
Can they never get a break!! Everyone is in a fight for their lives!! Someone or something knows when and where they are going to be. Who could they be??
Good read
It is another P.R.Adams hard to put down story. The unexpected is what keeps me reading along with a possible future with all the human deviousness, treachery, and military blunders we have today times 10. Were only humans!
Intense. That's probably the best word I have for describing this excellent follow-on to PR Adam's Rimes and Elite Response Force series. Under intense pressure to capture the man responsible for the war, Colonel Myers makes a gamble and deploys the ERF into what is certainly a trap - it's either bring in the fugitive, or be disbanded. This one had me on the edge of my seat throughout the book, right up to the last page. I can't wait for the next book!
As I've mentioned in my other PR Adams reviews, he's my new favorite author. The man writes excellent, thrilling stories. Tight plots with multiple threads, great characters that you become invested in, and excellent world building.
If you love sci-fi, especially military sci-fi, give the Rimes and Elite Response Force novels a read.
